Requires Windows 10 or later, 64-bit or ARM64.
Why does Windows warn me?
The installer is not signed yet, so the first time you run it Windows says the publisher is unknown. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
It happens once: the warning comes from a mark Windows puts on files a browser fetched, and every update after this one is fetched by the app itself, so they install quietly. Pushed to a fleet with Intune or SCCM, nobody sees it.
The app installs no driver, hooks no keyboard, and reads no other program's memory.
After installing
- Sign in once: the app opens Poise in your browser for it.
- Select text anywhere and press Ctrl+Alt+Space.
- The app lives in the tray. Closing a window does not quit it.
What it does
In any app, and on your calls
Press Ctrl+Alt+Space and Poise reads the text you selected in whatever app you are in, marks the problems, and rewrites it in your voice when you ask. In ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini the same hotkey improves the prompt instead. It notices a Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, Slack huddles or Discord call starting and offers to record it from your own computer.
What stays on your computer
Checked on the device
Spelling and grammar are checked on your computer and work offline, in American, British, Australian, Canadian or Indian English, with your own words added to the dictionary. With Local only turned on, nothing you write is sent to Poise. Call detection reads only which app is in front and its window title.
